Curbing the Effects of Poverty

One in six Australian children live in poverty. This means that 774,000 Australian children lack access to the resources they need to thrive and survive; like food, healthcare, education, recreation and more.

Needless to say, this injustice forces children into cycles of disadvantage and greatly impacts their wellbeing for years to come.

Children’s brains are changed by experience. Children who experience poverty at some point in early childhood are likely to have poorer cognitive and social outcomes. Not to mention, the substantial differences in developmental outcomes for children who experienced persistent poverty compared to those who were never poor.

Without the resources they need to learn, grow and feel connected, we stand to compromise the development and wellbeing of our future generations.

Every child deserves the best chance at success.

We at Big Group Hug do just that by offering material aid to support families and children who need it most.

Your donations can curb the effects of poverty and disadvantage. Your donations can give children the necessary items for a happy childhood that are so often taken for granted. Your donations can create long-term change in children’s lives.

This in turn helps parents too, by easing their financial burdens, stress and building stronger, happier and healthier families.

Big Group Hug is committed to giving every child a fair start in life. We know you are too.
